The Architect #
Lucia spends the night researching history and iterating on designs. She simplifies the "Great Wheel," crossing out complex metal parts. "No ball bearings. No steel springs. Oak. Iron. Rope. It has to be something a cooper can build."
At dawn, she shakes Ulysses awake. "Wake up, Latin boy. We have a transmission to send."
Ulysses at the stone, Lucia standing over him dictating. The stone glows. "Tell him: 'Ratio decem'. Ten to one. The big wheel drives the little one. It's not magic, it's leverage."
