A chaotic construction montage follows. Rufus hammers iron sparks while Siro carves wooden pulleys of different sizes. "The drawing says different! It needs to slip, you ox!" Siro shouts over their wine.
They struggle with the flyer assembly. Initially, the mechanism screams and locks up. Marcus points to the axle: "The drag is here. Grease the axle, not the belt."
After smearing pig fat on the shaft and adjusting the tension, the moment of truth arrives. Rufus gives the Spinning Wheel a gentle push. It spins smoothly, the spindle blurring into a silent hum.
The bickering stops. They just stare at it. "Well," Rufus mutters. "It didn't explode."
