Lucia analyzes the physics of production. "It's the pass," she says, watching pre-modern weaving videos. "The weaver spends 60% of the cycle just moving the shuttle."
She sketches a "Picker" mechanism for a horizontal loom. Ulysses warns about the cultural taboo of sitting to weave, but Lucia is indifferent: "Gravity is free energy."
They transmit the design: the "Flying Shuttle." Ulysses writes on the stone: Radius Volans.
"Tell him it turns the loom into a bow that shoots thread," Lucia dictates. "The thread is a projectile."
